Cargo hatch virtually finished, just a bit of varnish required. Deckhouse slowly getting fitted out. Funnel is done but not yet fixed, wheel house coming on

Been away from it for a while, I have fitted the servo and temporarily linked it to rudder just test it works ok. I have fitted cut waters and the stem plates and the capping rails ( steam to bend them) . Wash port covers guard rails fitted and have started to paint the decks and the outside hull. Just started on the deck house having finished the hatch, which will be partially exposed to show the cargo when finished.

Before fitting the decks, it is necessary to fit the motor, speed controller, battery and radio receiver.

I have trimmed the excess moulding from around the top of the hull. Drilled and fitted the prop tube, fitted the aft and forward bulkhead. Not as straightforward as it sounds. The wooden components supplied are an approximate size and all need trimming and shaping to fit. The rudder has also been fitted together with side stringers and cargo hatch stringers. I am now waiting for the motor, and other radio control components to fit before moving on to fitting the decks.

So let’s get started, first thing is make a cradle and then cut/ sand away the excess from around the top of the hull moulding. I found some instructions missing so I contacted Calder craft and they e-mailed the instructions within minutes, great service, thanks.  Next job is to drill hull for prop, anchor etc.and fit the rudder.

Welcome back
